This is a list of public and private organizations dedicated to making information on hair loss available to everyone who needs it.
These groups that provide information and knowledge are an important part of coping and dealing with certain medically related conditions.
Following is a list is some national organizations. Check your local telephone directory for resources that may be available in your area.
NATIONAL ALOPECIA AREATA FOUNDATION
NAAF has support groups all over the world. Though they have different sizes, average age and group specific objectives, they share a common mission: To provide individuals who suffer from alopecia areata, and their families and friends, a safe, comfortable and trusting environment in which to share their personal experiences with this challenging disease.

MESOTHELIOMA
Mesothelioma, a rare cancer of the lining of the lung, is caused by exposure to asbestos. At some point in our lives, nearly all of us have been exposed to asbestos in the air we breathe and the water we drink; from natural deposits in the earth, and from the deterioration of asbestos products around us. The government eventually stepped in and placed regulations and abatement orders against the toxic material during the 1970s and 1980s. However, the damage had already been done and there has yet to be a ban placed on the substance. Buildings today, constructed prior to the regulations continue to pose a health risk.
While most of us do not become ill as a result of our exposure, because of long dormancy periods, mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases can remain undetected for over a decade before the patient shows any signs of illness. An exposure of as little as one or two months can result in mesothelioma 30 or 40 years later.
