Monday 12/20/2003 - We are experiencing a really bad storm here today and there have been intermittent power failures. This means that each time the power goes out, our server goes out too. If you are trying to browse our website during one of these power outages, and you are suddenly unable to get our site, please try again a little later. Our phone system runs on electricity also, and during a power failure we lose our phone too. So if you are trying to reach us by phone, please keep trying. Also if you are talking to us on the phone and the phone suddenly goes dead, we didn't hang up on you--it just means that we lost power. Please call back later. This is a temporary situation and will end when the storm passes. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Good news--my wireless connection is working again (Thanks Mike!) and that means I can access my e-mail once more. As you can imagine, after being down for a week, there were numerous messages in the first download. I am doing my best to get back to everyone as soon as I can, so if you have not received a reply yet, please have patience. I am answering each message that comes to me personally, and this may take some time. I thank you for your understanding.

Tuesday 12/23 - Toni here. For those of you who have tried to e-mail me in the last few days, I apologize for not replying yet. The gremlins have gotten into my wireless connection, and I haven't been able to download e-mail or get on the Internet since last Friday. Mike is working on the problem, and as soon as he can get it back up again, I will be getting back to you as soon as possible.

Technology can be a wonderful tool, but when it acts up, it can be real frustrating. I'm writing this from Charles' computer at the shop. I'm sure things will be back to normal soon, and I thank you for your patience.

Tuesday 12/9 - Toni here. How time flies! I'm working part-time at the shop and part-time from home now. I'm always at the shop on Fridays, and sometimes on Wednesdays. If you need to speak to me about your order, I'm happy to help you, whether I'm at the shop or at home. If you call the shop and I'm not there, you are welcome to call me at home. Charles will give you the number.

The news is that Noriko has done it again! She has created two new styles, Claire and Teri. Claire is an updated medium-length shag style, and Teri is a fabulous layered razored bob.

In addition, Noriko has come out with their new Gradient Color system. These are seven new colors created with unique fiber technology that allows multi-color on a single strand, adding depth and distinction to the finished look.

The new Gradient Colors are yummy: Champagne, Mocha Cream, Sandalwood, Nutmeg, Raisin Glaze, Terra Cotta, and Sangria. They are currently available in four styles, the new Claire GC (Gradient Color) and also the Megan GC, Mason GC and Chloe GC. I've separated the wigs in the two sets of colors as the ones that come in the Gradient Colors cost a bit more than the standard Airbrush colors, but they look so beautiful that the extra cost is worth it. Thursday 10/2 - For those of you who have sent e-mails to me in the last two weeks, I apologize for not answering. I have been without a computer for that long, and so I was unable to access my mail. After years of updates and upgrades, my "former" computer decided it had enough. One fine day it just decided not to boot up. The good news is my brand new computer was delivered this morning, and with its Pentium 4 processor and 120 gig hard drive, it's one powerful machine! Compared with my old machine, this one is lightning-fast! The speed and effiency are awesome! Sometimes a bad situation can be a blessing in disguise. My deepest thanks to my wonderful web pro, Mike, for all the work he did configuring my new machine, and the many hours he spent transferring the numerous files and folders from my old machine so my new one would be ready for me to resume where I left off two weeks ago. I'm just delighted with my brand-new computer!

So I'm back up on the information superhighway once more, ready to help anyone who needs my assistance in placing their orders. It may take me awhile, but I'll catch up on answering your e-mail messages as quickly as possible.

More good leg is much better now, and I should be able to go back to styling in the next week or two. I'm going back to the doctor next week, and if he releases me, I'll be back happily styling wigs again.

Thanks to all of you who sent your kind words of encouragement and support through my ordeal. It's been a long hard pull, but there's a lot to be said for following doctor's orders. I'll be pleased to be able to be back in the shop styling your wigs for you once again.

Well, back to work on my new computer!

Tuesday 9/2 - If you've missed seeing Look of Love on our site, I've been working on it doing a lot of updating. There have been many changes at Look of Love, and I think I have everything current now, with the exception of 2 or 3 wigs, which I will add in the next couple of days. At any rate this great collection is back with new and improved features, and with their many high quality wigs for every occasion and mood. Check them out today.

Many of you have contacted me regarding my recuperation, and I thank each of you for your well-wishes. I thought I was going to be able to go back to styling again on the first of this month, but my leg has other ideas. It is not healing as quickly as I first thought, and my doctor has not released me to go back yet. It looks like I'm going to be home for another month. I'm going to try for the first of October, but I'm not going back until my doctor says it's OK.

In the meantime, I'm still working from home, but I am here to answer any questions you might have about the wigs, and I'll be happy to help you with your order in any way I can. My staff is also ready and willing to assist you. We're all looking forward to hearing from you and as always, we will continue to bring you the quality and service that you have come to expect from our company.

Monday 8/18 - LOOK! Wow! We've been able to scoop the five brand newest styles by Beverly Johnson before anyone else has them! Thanks to our special relationship with the manufacturer, we're offering these beautiful synthetic wigs to you ahead of other Internet dealers. Check out Calista, Natalya, Oprah, Raven, and Audra. The first four styles are available right now in some colors, but more colors will be added as soon as they come in from the factory. Audra is coming around the middle of September, but I'm showing the picture now as a "sneak preview".

Wednesday 8/13 - Just a quick note to let you know that I've added four new styles to the Amore collection. Look for Allison, Abby, Laurie and Marie. These are all mono top wigs, and made with the high quality and easy care that makes the Amore wigs a perfect choice for your busy lifestyle.

Tuesday 8/12 - If you haven't been able to find your favorite Look of Love style on our site lately, I have been working on upgrading and updating the collection, and it will be completed and back up in its entirety soon. There have been many changes in the collection, and I'm working on getting all the new styles current. In the meantime, I have taken the wigs down that need changes, but they will be back as soon as they are ready. Thanks for your patience.

Oh, and one more thing...about SPAM blocking programs. If you choose to use a SPAM blocker (even if you are not on AOL), you may not be able to receive e-mail from us, or any other legitimate Internet business. Most blocking programs will block any e-mail from reaching your inbox unless the sending address is in your address book. If you want to receive e-mail from any business, you might consider adding that e-mail addy to your address book. This is the only way you'll be able to receive e-mail replies to your questions, or order confirmations, tracking information, or any other legitimate communications from websites where you go for info or purchasing products.

While the blocking technology is well-meaning, the law of unintended consequences is creating a nuisance between the customer and the merchant. As users continue to install these SPAM blockers, communication with our customers will become more difficult. This makes it impossible to keep offering the level of customer service that we are known for.

Again, I suggest that if you have e-mailed us with a question, or have not received your order confirmation or tracking info, please give us a call. It's the best way you can be sure to get a reply.

Saturday 8/9 - It's Mike here. We were having trouble with our DSL Internet connection. We put in a request for an upgrade to the speed a few days ago. They said it would be complete by 9/14. We haven't been having any problems except speed, but today some time after 12:30PM PST the connection was lost. Because nobody was around, I didn't find out about it until later. It was related to the upgrade request. Turns out they have changed the way they assign IP addresses and didn't tell us. I plugged the new settings in and it works fine. Now we just have to wait for the speed upgrade portion.

Saturday 8/2 - It is becoming more and more frustrating trying to contact our customers who are on AOL. We are constantly getting bounced back mail on the automated order confirmations and even on replies to inquiries. The SPAM filters on AOL are so tight that they won't even accept legitimate e-mail from businesses. This is an unacceptable situation that keeps us out of touch with our AOL customers by e-mail, even if the message is critical to their order.

So if you have an AOL e-mail address, and you have written to us asking a question or regarding your order, and you don't receive a reply, please be aware that it is not our fault. We answer all e-mail we receive. It might be a good idea to call us instead. Please be sure to provide a valid phone number on your order so that we might be able to contact you by that method.

We apologize for any inconvenience that is caused by this situation. If it is to to change, AOL customers will have to complain to their provider.

Tuesday 7/22 - Wow, how time flies! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm all set up at home, answering your e-mail and working on new stuff for the website. I am also going in to the office a few hours a week to finish up the styling on the wigs that were ordered before I started my convalescence. I will be happy to be available to you if you need help with your order. I am accessible by e-mail and also by phone if you'd rather speak to me in person. Just call Charles and he will give you the number.

This is going to work out a lot better than I thought. I can do anything from home that I can from the shop...except the styling. But hang in there, I will be back styling again around the middle to end of September, God willing.

By the way, we apologize for not being available in the last couple of days at the office. Our air conditioner decided to quit, and with the outside temps hovering around 103 to 106, the staff was just not able to stay and work. We finally got the repairman today, and he fixed it all up. We are in the cool once again, and will be back in the office tomorrow.

Friday 7/4 - Toni again...Happy Independence Day to all of you from all of us! I want to let you know that I will unavailable for a few days while my computer equipment is being moved and set up in my home. While the computer is being moved, I won't be able to access my e-mail. Tuesday 7/1 - Toni here. There has been a development that I need to address. Due to a potentially serious health problem, starting today I will no longer be able to take orders for styled wigs for at least two months. I am under doctor's orders to take some time off to keep my leg elevated in order to heal a stubborn and painful stasis ulcer that has been plaguing me for more than a year. I will be working from home during that time. I will still be available to answer e-mail and I will also be accessible by phone for any customer service issues that can't be handled by my staff at our business location. As always, I'll be happy to assist you with your orders in any way I can.

Unfortunately, there is no way I can do the wig styling from the body position which I will be forced to maintain during this time. Because I am the only stylist here, this means that during the time I will be recuperating, I will not be able to offer any styling on the wigs. You can still order Jacquelyn's and Wig Pro's, but during this time they will have to be ordered unstyled. The prices listed on my website for these brands will reflect the unstyled price for the duration of my absence.

For those customers who have already ordered styled wigs, and are waiting for them to be styled and shipped, I plan on taking care of the styling on these wigs within the next week or so.

My absence from the styling is only a temporary situation, and I hope to be back at full capacity within a couple of months. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my valued customers, and I thank you for your patience and understanding.

Monday 5/5 - In an effort to keep up with our steadily growing business, we have just completed installing a brand new and improved server. We estimated it to be about 5 times faster than our previous server. We're in the process of doing some website upgrades, and they should be completed shortly. We hope the improvements will make your shopping experience easier, and as always, we appreciate your business.

Sunday 4/27 - I have added the Forever Young collection, designed with the modern woman of color in mind, but many of the styles are available in lighter browns and even blondes. There's something for everyone here, take a look and see some new styles you may not have seen before. The wigs are very reasonably priced and I'm sure you'll find a new 'do in your future!

Wednesday 3/26 - I've updated the Estetica collection and added several new styles. This collection of nice-quality, reasonably-priced wigs features contemporary as well as classic styles for every fashion taste. If you haven't checked out these wigs lately, take a peek at all the new looks we are featuring at great prices. We are working on some new features for the website that we know you'll find helpful in placing your orders. I'm also working on a couple of new Ethnic collections that I know you'll like a lot. Keep us bookmarked and check back often. Don't forget to add your e-mail address to our "Free Subscriptions" section to receive all the latest news and changes to the site as they occur.

Wednesday 3/19 - It has come to our attention that AOL is treating some e-mail coming from on-line merchants as SPAM. Shortly after you place an order through our on-line order form, an automated confirmation is sent to the e-mail address you entered on your order. This is designed to you know that we have received your order and it is being processed. Also, at the time the order is shipped, an automated e-mail notification that the order has been shipped, along with a tracking number for the package, is sent to the same e-mail address.

In addition, we use e-mail to communicate with our customers about their order, and if there is a problem, e-mail is the way we normally contact you. Due to AOL's current policy, many of these messages are being rejected and bounced back to us, or not being delivered and just disappearing into cyberspace. We are frustrated with this situation, as many of our customers use AOL as their e-mail service. The rejection of this e-mail is interfering with our customer service, and in many cases, we are not even aware the customer did not receive the message. Legitimate business correspondence is being unfairly targeted by AOL as SPAM mail, and if you are an AOL subscriber, it might be to your advantage to register a complaint with them about this matter. Otherwise, you may not be aware that there may be a problem with your order.

In any case, if you placed an order with us and did not receive an e-mail confirmation within one day from the date you placed the order, please be aware that our ordering system may have attempted to send your confirmation but there may have been a problem with delivery. Regardless of what e-mail address you give us, please be sure that it is a valid and correct one, and that your e-mail box is not full. An e-mail message regarding your order that bounces back doesn't do either of us any good.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this problem.

Sunday 3/2 - I'm doing some updating in the Beverly Johnson/Black is Beautiful collections. I've just added three new synthetic wigs and one new human hair wig. I've updated some of the pictures and I think they look better. I'll be updating the rest of the photos as I get time.

Tuesday 2/25 - Toni here. I apologize for not adding anything to this section for awhile. Many of you might remember my son, Eric, who worked for us doing shipping and billing last year. Sadly, Eric passed away from cancer last month, and I'm only just getting back to some kind of normalcy after his death. For those of you who are waiting for styled wigs, I sincerely apologize for the delay, and I'll complete your orders just as soon as possible. I am working hard to get caught up, and I appreciate your patience with me at this time.

Now having said that, I have managed to get two new wig collections up for you this last weekend. Take a peek at the Rene of Paris collection, brought to you by the same folks who bring you Noriko and Amore quality wigs. Rene has their own line also, and even thought it's a rather small collection, you'll find contemporary as well as classic styles to choose from.

I have also added the new Tress Allure line, brought to you by the same company that makes Adolfo and Revlon wigs. This is another small but beautiful collection of contemporary styles designed for today's woman-on-the-go with no time to spare in a beauty salon. By the way, this line was created by one of the top Japanese wig designers in the business. Her name is recognized and her styles are worn by thousands of women the world over. Wednesday 1/2/2003 - Happy New Year to all! Due to increasing problems with Airborne Express over the last few months, we have decided that we can no longer work with them. In an effort to bring the best service and fastest possible delivery times to our customers, we will be using UPS from now on as our primary shipper. We will also still be using the postal service for certain deliveries, but we'll be shipping most of your orders through UPS now. Please note that we will not be using Airborne Express for any shipping from now on.

We have lots of new plans for our website this year. Our webmaster, Mike, is working on a new design for the site, and should be able to launch it live in a few weeks. We are also working on new wig collections to offer you soon too. Be sure to sign up on our main page under Free Subscriptions to receive notifications each time we add something new to the site.
